Boys Junior Varsity Baseball, Boys Varsity Baseball · Wesley Starkes Named May River Baseball Coach

Wesley Starkes has been named Head Baseball Coach for May River High School.  He replaces Keith Stewart who was promoted to Assistant Principal at Bluffton Middle School last week.

Coach Starkes played Division I baseball at New Mexico State University from 2009-2011 after attending Northeasern Oklahoma A&M in 2007-2008.  He was named as an Academic All American all 4 years of playing college baseball.

After graduating from NMSU, he began coaching baseball and football at Crandall High School in Crandall, Texas and become their head baseball coach in 2017 before moving to the Bluffton area.

Wes has been a part of the past two Region championships at May River and is excited for the opportunity to take over the program.  Coach Starkes said, “Coach Stewart did a great job building it from year 1 and I hope we can continue the tradition that earlier classes  started. I hope to get these guys to play fast, play smart and above all else compete every pitch. I am very excited as to what the future holds for the Shark Baseball Team.”

Baseball will begin their off season program in December to prepare for the Spring.
